weird spacing with calendly

Recommended Posts

I followed the instructions to embed calendly into my site.

I've spoke to both calendly and squarespace and neither can help me. The spacing is really weird and huge with the embed provided on the calendy website and there is no way to reduce the spacing within squarespace itself. The embed itself is not that large.

Firstly try adding this to your Custom CSS:

html.squarespace-damask .sqs-blockStatus, .sqs-block .removed-script {
  display: none !important;
}

Then I would suggest deleting the block and re-adding the code via either the code block (as you currently have) or the embed block.

You need to add to Design -> Custom CSS not to the code block.

This is a dumb issue with Squarespace where the embed is much bigger than the actual content in the embed. I completely agree it sucks. My usual way around this is to not even embed the calendar at all, but rather embed a pop-up button. You can see it on my website (justinmabee.com/book-now). I use Google Calendar Scheduling, and the book an appointment button is much friendlier for spacing. The pop-up overlays on the site and works pretty well. I know Calendly has this option, I believe it's a pop-up option. Let me know if that helps.

no warning message! Just no removing of the space. Here’s one of the pages with the calendly embed. See all the space below?

The code only hides the warning message, so it is working, you have to remove the space by changing the size of the existing block. For newly created embeds they will never get the extra space.

@Ziggy it won’t let me adjust the size anymore. When I adjust the size in the code itself it just changes the size of the calendly calendar - NOT the excess white space below.

I'm not sure why that doesn't work for you, can you share the calendly code and some screenshots or even better a demo so I can see what's not working?

Here's my page where I've added the Custom CSS, deleted the code block, readded the code block, and it still has too much blank space after the Calendly block. I'm concerned visitors won't realize there is more to the page.

Nope, this does not fix the problem, unfortunately. it will force the user to scroll within the calendar.
