JeremyDVBoyd
Is there a way to protect Squarespace websites from ChatGPT accessing our content? I read a Linkedin Post that said this is how to do so for websites in general: You need to add this rule to your site's robot.txt User-agent : ChatGPT-User Disallow: / I'm a designer, not a developer, so don't know what to do with this code, or if it applies to Squarespace sites. I am keen to hear from those who understand code and can lead the way in how to enable it to hep us protect the content on our community's websites from ChatGPT. I'm all for many of the benefits of ai, but feel artists/designers should have some control over whether their work is included or not in the training of ai models. Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Edited April 6 by JeremyDVBoyd sayreambrosio 1 Link to comment
Ziggy
ChatGPT was trained on a dataset called "WebText" which was most recently updated in 2019, so your website data from the last 4 years hasn't been included. This probably isn't true for all of the other AI Chat bots, but given the way that Bing is going, search may be moving towards giving answers before websites, so if you did manage to prevent them finding your content it may hurt your discoverability, but since this is pretty new, we don't know where it is going or what the implications are, Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you.
