Blog Name in search - How To Customise Appearance

Recommended Posts

Posted

In search results my blogs' name looks like the attached sample.

The Blog name on the first line is:

baligram.me

And I would just like to change this (to capitalise the first letter so it reads: 'Baligram.me'.

I can't quite figure out where that can be changed in settings, if anyone mioght be kind enough to help me?

Thanks!

Hi @qosmic Thanks for your reply.

The blog is running on a subdomain.

I checked the Site Title (via Page Header -> Global -> Site Title and Logo) and that is set to 'Baligram Magazine'

I can't find anywhere else in the settings where I could specify title.

It seems to me like for some reason Google is choosing to use the URL rather than the site title.

Could that be possible?

Hi @qosmic Well, it's Blog Posts (not pages) that this is happening and on the Settings for a blog post, under the SEO tab there is not a place for page/post name...just meta Title and Description.

So Google must be getting it from somewhere else?

There is a page title and SEO settings for the blog itself. Should rule that out as well. (If you don't know, go to the blog page in your dashboard and click the gear icon at the top.)

If that's not it, are you using Google Search Console or have you submitted the page to Google for indexing?
