Extending image/video into the footer

Is it possible to extend the image to fill even into the footer? If yes, how can I do it?

It would be easier to put the image in the footer as opposed to trying to come up with code to have the block cross that invisible line between the section/page and the footer. If you want the footer to have a background image and look like part of the page this may work for you here:
