All My Products Are On My Homepage

Hello,

All of my products are showing up on the home page of my website. The home page is a "store" page. I cannot figure out how to get them off of that page. I changed it to the "store" page because I want to have a "sidebar" list of the categories and the other page layouts don't offer this option to have a "sidebar" list. I have tried everything to fix this problem. And I feel stupid because I have a feeling it's as simple as flipping a switch. And the "public" or "hidden options on the edit product page under "visibility" hides the product altogether off of whole website pages. 

My second issue is I'd like to have my "featured" items on my home page. How do I do this? The "featured" product switch under the "visibility" section on the edit product page does not work for me.

Please help!

#1. Hover on your desired homepage (not store page) > Click gear icon (appear on right) > Click Set it as homepage

#2. You can add some Product Blocks or Summary Block to features items
