Authenticated Comments

I want to make sure before I lose my mind: is there no way to enforce authenticated comments on blog posts? This seems like a serious feature gap. I don't want to make a members-only blog because I want the blog to be public. On the other hand, I don't just want anyone on the internet to be allowed to make comments and create a massive moderation workload.

Am I missing something here?

Go to settings/blog preferences/comments and make sure you have "requires approval" checked. Any comments will not show up until you approve them under "comments"  on the configuration home page.
