Image to appear on text link hover

Hello! I am trying to create a section which would display an image on the left half and a list on the right. My hope is to connect each list item to a specific photo which will appear in the image box when hovering over the item. 

Ive found a few hacks which would allow me to fade image into view on hover, however it wouldn't allow me to show image on link hover as my design has them situated next to each other rather than overlayed.

You can use a Portfolio Page with Hover Background Layout. It will create effect: hover text > show fullwidth background

Next share link to portfolio page, we can give code to move image hover background to right of text
