Put blogposts on homepage - auto update

I am wanting to add a blogpost section to my home page but unsure how I can do this. I want it to update automatically, is this possible?

Yes use a summary block on your home page with one or more items.  Set  it for featured posts.  Every new post marked featured will automatically show up.
