Use the link option in the text block rich text editor.

This shows the 7v.1 editor. The v7.0 editor is similar.

I found a nice article I wanted to share via our Blog page.  I thought "embed" was the way to go, but it doesn't seem to like me.

It looks like the owner of that sight may have embedding blocked on their site which will in turn not let you embed it on yours. As far as I can see the only way to share it is to link to it with a button or a text link within a blog post as a reference item instead of the post itself.
