how to change an old version to the newer version

i would like to be able to change the color but i dont have pallets like the other newer version i think its easier and more uniformed how can i possibly change the version of the website 

We don't have enough info to accurately answer your question. If you are using 7.1 all the "templates" have the same color palettes. 7.1 is actually just one template with a whole lot of different layouts and color combos, any one with effort can be made to look like any other. Color pallets are located in config/design/site styles and in the panel that comes up on the right, choose colors/edit palettes and scroll down to where they all are.
