transparent video support

Any support for transparent video, videos with an alpha, like in wix?

What file format are you wanting to use? These are the currently supported video formats:

I want to use a video with an alpha channel, so it has a transparent background.  I find it problematic matching the background colours of the website to the background of the video in order to cheat the effect.

I noticed WIX has transparent video functionality where you can upload a video with an alpha channel and it converts it so it will play on the website, the files it plays are small as well. 

I wondered if Squarespace has this as well? If not is it something you can add, as its super useful?

Squarespace doesn't have this. But if you contact Squarespace Support and put it forward as a suggestion, if they feel like it's a valuable feature for enough users it may be developed and added.
