Remove background from product carousel arrows

Hi, 

I am trying the make the background of the product carousel arrows transparent with no luck. I have tried this code:

    background: transparent;
}

Add this to Design > Custom CSS

.pdp-carousel-controls .chevron-next, .pdp-carousel-controls .chevron-prev {
    background: unset;
}
