It looks like you have a problem with the code you are using to achieve the split section, without knowing what you are using it's tricky to understand why it's not working.

Squarespace is designed to be used without code and plugins, and occasionally there are changes to the base code on your website that can have a negative impact on the functionality of your plugins. Updates can come from the plugin developer but that very much depends on the developer.
