Unwanted shipping notice

In my test site (ignore the images, they're just for prototyping purposes), it all works fine except on checkout there is a grey-out notice that says "Shipping not available for this product", even though the shipping form is presented and works fine.

This notice was confusing to me, and would also be confusing to my buyers. How can I eliminate this?

A link to the backend of the your site won’t work for us, i.e. a url that contains /config/.

Please set up a site-wide password, if your site is not public and you've not already done so.

Post the password here.

Adding a site-wide password does not allow anyone to alter your site. It only allows those with the password to see your site.

Please read the site-wide password and how to share a link documentation to understand how they work.

We can then take a look at your issue.

This message will appear if no shipping options have been configured.  

When you go to Commerce > Shipping do you see a list of shipping options with names, or do you just see 'ADD SHIPPING OPTION' like this:

When you've added some shipping options, and optionally some pickup options, these should appear on the checkout page.
