Why does my site look different on different computers?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm designing a client's website but when holding meetings they are seeing something very different in terms of formatting. My macOS operating system is Ventura 13.0.1 and my client's is Monterey 12.2.1. Could this be the reason behind the difference in format and view?

Thank you.

Can you provide a working link to the site and explain what you mean by "very different"?

Most 'differences' are caused by:

  • different browsers - they all render sites slightly differently
  • the viewport width - the width of the browser when viewing the site. On a 5K display, it may display between 2560 and 5120 pixels if the browser is maximised, whereas on a notebook computer it may be 1280 or 1440 pixels wide.

Do you have screenshots of both for us to compare?
