Best plan to start off

I am planning to move to square space. I am fed up with weebly, the user interface is clunky and things don't work well sometimes like fonts. The home page display shows small pictures. Do I need a business plan and css and all that. I am not selling anything off my site yet at least. Maybe in the future..I would like same structure work, about, news, contact...Some gif animations would be nice and fast speed to open. Any ideas appreciated. Thanks! Cathal
