Code Injection Help: increase the size (padding?)

HELP!  I'm a super-newbie when it comes to web design in SquareSpace, and took over a website design project from a firm that we fired, so I'm having to unpack a bunch of things to try and figure out how it was all created, so I can make some adjustments and then put it all back together.

Referencing this image:

1) See that purple header bar with "hello@fiertecanadapride.org" in it?  The purple used to be thicker and go all the way down to the top of the maple leaf image.  I had to remove something from our Code Injection screen and when I did, that purple bar got super thin, like it is now.  I want to make it thicker (is that called "padding"?) and don't know how to do that or where to change it in the Code Injection.
