Do I need to buy SSL from GoDaddy? Or will this be taken care by Squarespace?

Squarespace provide an SSL certificate for the Squarespace website for free. You don't need to buy a certificate for a Squarespace website.

I'm in a similar situation. I bought a Domain via GoDaddy and linked it to my squarespace account, but I can't seem to use the free SSL Certificate via Squarespace. It's just saying unavailable as it's trying to look for it at GoDaddy.

How can I resolve this? I don't want to pay $400 at GoDaddy if I can get it for free with Sqaurespace.

I'm finding Squarespace chat function difficult to get a response.

Hello,

I'm having a similar issue.

I have connected my GoDaddy domain onecollective.online to my Sqaurespace site. But the SSL certificate did not appear after 72 hours. Currently, Squarespace says "SSL Certificate Status = Unavailable" and that I should contact Squarespace support.

Also, Squarespace is not producing the Squarespace defaults in the DNS settings (see image)

Would you please help?

Kind regards,

Your domain onecollective.online is not connected to any website. If the domain resides at Godaddy and is connected to a Squarespace site, you need to set up the dns/nameserver records on godaddy. Here are the instructions to manually make the connection:

https://support.squarespace.com/hc/en-us/articles/212125867-Manually-connecting-a-GoDaddy-domain-to-your-Squarespace-site

If transferring a godaddy domain to Squarespace here is the guide:

Hi Derrick,

Thanks for writing.

I've been through the Squarespace user guides.

The domain IS connected to my Squarespace site (see attachment below).

I have set up the Squarespace-generated nameserver records on Godaddy.

Currently, Squarespace says "SSL Certificate Status = Unavailable" and that I should contact Squarespace support.

Squarespace is not producing the Squarespace defaults in the DNS settings (see attachment in my previous post).

As with the SLL issue, the advise from my Squarespace dashboard is to contact Squarespace customer support.

I'm also having the same issue, with https://thrivinglife-counseling.com/. I've transferred the domain from GoDaddy to Squarespace, and the DNS settings are not automatically populating. The SSL certificate isn't coming up after 72 hours either. The domain instead goes to https://thrivinglife-counseling.com/lander, which points to a GoDaddy landing page of some sort. I've emailed Squarespace and attempted to get into queue with the chatbot, and no dice. It won't even assign me a queue number because it says there's so many support requests.

I'm also having the same issue. I have 3 domains connected successfully but 2 have SSL certificates showing as unavailable. On one of them the SSL certificate is fine but I've done the exact same process for all 3 so it doesn't make sense to me why 2/3 wouldn't work. Feels like there may be some glitch if this happening to a few people at the moment. If anyone finds a solution I'd love to know.
