Benefits of adding Google Search Console via Connected Accounts?

I'm not understanding the difference or benefits between linking Google Search Console through the Connected Accounts or going through the Search Console and seeing your analytics there. Is it simply the convenience of seeing the data in your Squarespace Analytics dashboard? Is there any other benefit? Anything I'm missing? Thanks. 

I don't use Connected Accounts and experienced issues with the connection.
