Saltysar
Hello! I'm currently trying to take the domain from an active 7.0 site and switch it to my 7.1 trial site and can't seem to figure it out. I feel like it should be a simple process but for some reason I'm struggling with it. I've been looking into it and it seems that maybe it is a more complicated process but wanted to get some input before I started doing a lot of extra work. My trial site is already designed and ready to go! Just need my domain added to it to make it live. Link to comment

Saltysar
Thanks but I already read this page and still struggling. If anyone can explain why it isn't allowing me to transfer a domain to a trial site that would be awesome. I don't want to have to pay for another subscription when I just want to update my site and not keep the old version. Link to comment

The new site will need to be on an active billing plan. See the Moving from Squarespace version 7.0 to version 7.1 checklist. Edited February 3 by paul2009 About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. mckracker
The hamburger menu is not present. I edited the site which is now a trial. I want to connect the domain to the trial site. Why should we need an additional subscription? That makes no sense. Only one site will be live, I'm replacing the old one. SS has no support and their online "help" is inaccurate and out dated. I should have known better than to do business with a company that refuses to talk to it's customers. Link to comment

If you're ready to move your domain to the new site, first subscribe to a website billing plan on this new site. When you no longer need the old site you can cancel your old site to avoid paying for multiple sites at the same time. You can then contact Customer Care to find out if you’re eligible for a prorated refund for switching sites. About: SQSP User for 17 yrs. Circle Leader since 2017.
