Davideesk
Hello, I am in the process of migrating my dad's web store from Magento to SquareSpace. I am trying to see if I can bulk-import his catalog with the images included. I created this test csv file, and it almost works besides the Hosted image section. Product Id,Variant Id,Product Type,Product Page,Product Url,Title,Description,SKU,Price,Sale Price,On Sale,Stock,Categories,Tags,Weight,Length,Width,Height,Visible,Hosted Image URLs ,,Physical,shop,star-wars-solo-hobby-box-24-packs,Star Wars Solo Hobby box 24 packs,"Topps Star Wars Solo: a star wars story 24 pack hobby box, with 2 hits including 1 auto or sketch card guaranteed.",887521069972,79,,No,1,Non-Sports/Star Wars,,,,,,Yes,https://www.oldtimehobbies.net/pub/media/catalog/product/2/0/20200124_133103_2_.jpg This is the link to the image: https://www.oldtimehobbies.net/pub/media/catalog/product/2/0/20200124_133103_2_.jpg The only error I get is: Row Error 2 Categories not assigned Try assigning these categories manually The image does work if I upload it to imgur. I get the same error as above. This is the link to it: https://i.imgur.com/3MesYWu.jpeg Now I don't want to upload 988 images to imgur individually. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Solution paul2009 Posted February 3 Solution Share Posted February 3 12 hours ago, Davideesk said: I am trying to see if I can bulk-import [my dad's web store] catalog with the images included. I created this test csv file, and it almost works besides the Hosted image section. I cannot explain why the image URLs are not being processed. The image URL is valid. The CSV content is valid. Everything appears to be correct, so the importer should either import the image correctly or show the following error - which it doesn't! I recommend that you reach out to Squarespace Customer Care directly about this. You may get some pushback initially ("we don't troubleshoot CSV files") but as the importer is not showing an error, something is amiss. I've tested this too and can see that it isn't attempting to use the image URL. If they provide you with a solution or workaround, please post it here for the benefit of other users. Did this help? Bitmvr
I know this is an older post, but hopefully for other's who receive this error. Based on my understanding, in 7.1 the Categories must be created first before uploading. Link to comment

photosobscura
Just as an FYI, I was also unable to get images to work in bulk import via csv. I reached out to support (thanks for the link above!), and they verified that it's a bug and said the only workaround is to manually upload images individually. They are unable to provide any timeline for addressing it. Davideesk, I'd really love to know if you reported it to them back in February when you posted this - if so, I'll know I shouldn't wait for a fix! Link to comment

It's helpful (albeit incredibly frustrating) to know they will probably not fix it quickly. I have over two thousand products to import and part of the reason I went with Squarespace was because they claimed I could do it in bulk. At least the data import is working for me so far.
