For the benefit of others reading this, hotlinking is where someone else uses your site’s bandwidth to display one of your website assets, like an image or video, on their website. If your image was hosted on a different platform that had limited bandwidth, or where you paid for server resources each time an asset was viewed, this could have performance or financial implications for you.
