ROUGH_WATER_SEO_Plugin
Hi @CPR001, Squarespace does have some issues with page loading speed - typically, Squarespace websites have poor core web vitals compared to WordPress and Webflow sites (for example). First of all, don't panic here. Page speed is one of a few hundred different ranking factors that Google looks at when ranking a site. I often find for most people that the ease of use and aesthetics of Squarespace sites weigh out the lack of speed. There are a few things you can do though:: Ensure all images are compressed using https://imagecompressor.com/ and uploaded in next-gen formats where possible Reduce the amount of embedded elements on your site - adding videos, widgets etc., can slow down your site, and there may be ways to work around them while not slowing down your site. Spread content across different pages. I don't know what your business offers, but some industries find website speed harder than others. For example, if you take lots of photos and videos, and upload them across your site, focussing on your homepage, you may want to spread stuff across other pages instead. Check any custom code - depending upon who built your site, there may be added custom code slowing down your site. Squarespace itself recommends ensuring there are no more than 60 blocks per page. To remove a block from a page, visit Deleting blocks. If you have lots of blogs, you can use blog excerpts to add teasers for each post rather than showing the full text of the blog. You can also enable AMP to help blog posts load faster on mobile devices. Hopefully, the above helps. Squarespace does have some work to do here, but things are improving. At the public launch of my Squarespace SEO plugin, you'll get many of these recommendations tailored to your website at a fraction of the cost of a professional.
