How do I transfer my current squarespace domain to my new squarespace site?

Hi guys,

I have an old  squarespace site.

I have built a new site currently on trial but would like to use my old domain name for it.

How to a transfer my current squarespace domain to my new squarespace site?

it's fairly easy to do.  Here's some info.  I did mine a couple of years ago and did the same.

If SS hosts the domain, there's a Move Domain to Another Site option.

If the domain was purchased through Squarespace it's simply clicking on the move to another site button under domain settings BUT you can't transfer it until the new site is on a paid plan. Once it is then it will show up in the list of sites you can transfer to.

I already pay an annual subscription for my current site, would that mean I'd be paying for two sites?

Once you are completely done with the old site you can cancel it.

On the site that you have paid for already, did you do month to month or yearly?

Ahh, I see. It's a yearly, Website renews on Apr 19, 2023.

I guess as long as I cancel before then I wont double pay.
