How to set specific aspect ratio for stacked image blocks in 7.0?

Recommended Posts

Hi! On my page www.alexawolf.com/narrative (no password) - I would like an easy way of setting all the images to the same height, instead of just having to eyeball it and them getting off slightly as you get farther down the page. Because of some other custom css these need to stay as poster image blocks and not a gallery grid unfortunately. Ideally I would like a 2.39:1 aspect ratio for each image, but without needing to crop them all in an outside application. This aspect ratio is currently available in the gallery grid options, but not in the regular image editor. I assume setting an aspect ratio is better than a pixel height so that it scales more easily on different sized screens and devices. Thanks for the help!

If it's critical to have them be a specific aspect ratio, you could always just edit each photo and set them at the desired AR using the Squarespace image editor or on external editing software.

You're absolutely correct that 'hard-coding' the images would impact the dimensions on different screen-sizes.

If you're familiar with coding, you could try to apply a global max-width and min-height and use relative units like "vw" "vmin"...etc to make this a bit more fluid.
