Can't find the "design" option. Only seeing a limited number of options here.

If you are the owner/creator of the site then you should contact Squarespace as it appears something has gone wrong.

If you are not, then you don't have Administrator privileges and you need to contact the site owner to get them.

It wouldn't hurt to reload the page if you are site owner to see if that clears a potential issue.

On the left I don't see some options like "design" and "settings" etc. I'm added as a contributor.

You will only see the Design and Settings options if you are the Owner or an Administrator of the website.

Other contributor roles like Billing, Website editor or Store manager do not have access to these options. If you need access to the Design and Settings options you will need to contact the site's Owner or an Administrator to request Administrator permissions.

I am trying to get into the design panel so I can add custom code so that my homepage color and blog post colors aren't the same.

Hi, Custom Code location has moved. You can find it under Website -> Website Tools (Scroll down) -> Custom CSS.

Does anyone know how to find site styles from here?

Hello, I am experiencing this same issue, however I am the site owner so am unsure why "Design" isn't showing in side panel.

Here is a screenshot of what I'm seeing:

I have a similar issue. I don't see the "Design" option (I do see settings, though), and I'm definitely the owner, as I set this up. What's the best way to contact them without being directed to an article that doesn't tell me I need to contact them?

I'm new to squarespace, as I've worked with other websites, and I'm autistic (Literal thinker) so if documentation, especially steps aren't how it actually happens, I have difficulty following.

Hi @CarrieH 👋

There isn’t a “Design” option on Squarespace  v7.1 anymore! They updated the menus and moved things around. Things get renamed on an almost monthly basis!

If you tell me what you’d like to change, I’ll help you find it 🙂.

Hi Paul sorry I think I wrote this twice (didn't see the "Quote" link). Is there a way to customize navigation menus? The original person that set up our site didn't use any templates, and I really hate the default dropdown style of the navigation menu, can't even configure as cascading, meg-menus as this could become an accessibility issue. Our current Wix site (coughs coughs, it was possible to change the look of the navigation menu, but I'm not seeing options here?)

It depends what you mean by "customize" 🙂.

You can style the colours and fonts (click the paintbrush in the top-right corner) and you can create dropdowns, but if you want to do anything more "adventurous" like Megamenus, you'll need to add custom code (I've linked to Will's) or buy a "plugin" if you'd prefer something already built and tested.
