Putting my custom field on the product page

Hey squarspace family.  You've been very helpful so far, so I wanted to ask something else!

Is there a way of putting my custom field on the product page to be filled out/options selected INSTEAD or the custom field showing up when I click add to cart?

I ask because unfortunately unless i add the text of some sort saying " once you 'hit add to cart' you can customize your order" im not sure how many people that would add to the potential "bounce rate" and overall losing an order.

www.stickerprintingusa.com is my current domain... Maybe see the website competitor bikegraphix custom motocross graphics page

and thats basically what im referring to.  Add to cart is the FINAL step in ordering the item, after they have filled all the order info out.

Is there coding that would need to be done for this?  Do I need to ask for someone smart to help? lol

thank you in advance!!

You can add variant options for colours and sizes right there on the product page. However, if. you want to prompt for custom options like some text then you'll need to use the Custom Product Form. As you've mentioned, this can only appear after the cart button has been clicked. You cannot collect it on the product page.

However, you can change the caption on the Add to Cart button, so you could change it to something like "Customize and Buy".  You'll find this option when editing a product; scroll down to the Checkout section and you'll find a Custom button option.

thank you for responding.  i have spoke with many companys, small business\ too similar to mine and with analytics were able to see that if we lose an order its most likely in that area of purchase.  We know this because we get alot of emails to that will say "how do I include my order info?" because they dont want to hit add to cart without adding their info which in a way, makes sense but for me and you we understand these type of things, so im trying to dummy it down in a way...  Would custom coding work?

anyways, that might be something for the future that squarespace might want to look into as most other website platforms allow this, as majority of sites i go to have their options on the product page.  Wix, Shopify, both all it because my friends websites use it...

does fully custom coding work with squarespace anyway?  like can i bring in a full product editor if i wanted to that you would use in wordpress for example?

I am trying to get the product options that are in my "Custom Form" to show up on my product page, and not when I click Add to Cart.

Is this possible?  I feel like there should be a way to code this custom.

Also, i have a couple options that some option selections are an Upgrade, how would I go about doing that?  Adding an $10 upgrade for heavier duty film and it automatically changes their total when selected.

Thanks!

As I explained above, this is not currently possible on Squarespace, with or without code.

Hi there, i have an exact example from another company that charges $20 extra for "Sparkle" Finish as youll see the option in the background on his custom form when you add to cart, however he has to contact them and charge them manually right now for the finish because it doesn't automatically add $20 to the total.

is there a way using the custom form to have options dropdowns to have price values?

if you look at this link and add to cart, youll see the drop down option for finish (gloss, matte or sparkle).  and Sparkle should increase the price $20 but they couldnt figure it out.

SO im here to try and help us both figure this out.  Anyway to do this please?!

Thank you in advance.

No. Custom Product Forms cannot change the price of a product.

To allow a customer to select options with different prices, you must add Product Variants. You can do this by editing the product and scrolling down to Variants within the Inventory section - see the screenshot below:

These variant options will appear on the product detail page like this:
