Creating Text Variable for text block

I am creating several webpages with similar content for locations across the country. Instead of manually updating the text in each page is it possible to create a couple text variables for &city, &state where I can update the variable for each page?

I hope this question makes sense I don't have much HTML experience so the variable idea comes from using Matlab.

Squarespace allows you to duplicate your site into the new one, so you can create a sample and duplicate it.

Does it make sense?

@Beyondspace that does make sense but is the manual solution I am trying to avoid. Plus this opens me up to errors in the city state fields as i populate the duplicated pages. I was hoping to have a cleaner one variable solution if possible.

Did you ever find out how to do this?
