Often Google will pull through the featured image on your page, so if you're trying to get this on a blog, make sure you've added a featured image.

It's a little harder for homepages, as you can't set a featured image. The best way is to make sure your homepage images are compressed and have appropriate alt tags for what you want to rank for.
