Any chance I could somehow hide footer on homepage only - 

with no code block on the gallery slideshow,

no way to adding new sections just to add a code block

no way to add it without header/footer injector?

To hide the footer on your home page add this code to your Custom CSS (under Design in the dashboard):

  #footer-sections {
    display:none;
  }
}
