Bypassing "fit" and "fill"

Is there any code to keep an image dimension exactly as you add it, as in with the Classic Editor (without using Classic Editor - I am working with portfolio pages)?

If you move your browser window in and out, you'll see that the "fit" option causes large spaces above and below the images on smaller screens. If you use the "fill" option, (small) parts of the images get cropped to fit the grid which my client does not want.
