Centre blog posts on blog title page

Hi brains trust! I want my blog page to be a scrolling feed with the whole blog post visible. I've got it set up here, but at the moment the text is left aligned.

I don't like how it looks centred with the lines all over the place. I'd like it to be left-aligned but vertically centred, like you can see when you click into the individual posts:

I've pasted the code I found on another post to achieve this effect:

But I'm not sure what to do to replicate the same on the main page. Any thoughts?
