Allow better filtering on SS 7.1 Gallery Grid Masonry

I would like to use the Gallery Grid: Masonry with the Universal Filter plugin (https://www.squarewebsites.org/squarespace-plugins/universal-filter). When I do this the filtered images remain in their original position and don't 'align left or centrally'.

When I use the Grid: Simple the alignment works but there is no default option to set the image aspect ratio to auto.

Is there a way to realign images filter filtering OR create a masonry effect within the simple grid?
