Email Feature Set

As my business grows I am exploring email marketing. I find the current set of features for email that Squarespace has to offer very limiting. I dread moving my website to another platform that has email features like: a lead magnet form that includes phone number that then adds the contact data to a mail list with an automated nurturing email sequence. Does anyone know if Squarespace is going to develop email campaign features further?
