How do I place an image block on top of a gallery section?

Hi, I am using Squarespace's fluid engine and I would like to place a logo on top of a gallery section. The gallery section doesn't seem to allow new blocks to be added. Would there be any code to allow a logo to be placed on top of my gallery section (like the attached screenshot)?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Gallery sections are not open to adding new blocks, you could use a gallery block extended to the edges in a standard section and then place whatever you link on top.

@Ziggy Thanks for the response. This works but the gallery block seems to leave a blank area at the base of the gallery, even when I have 'Crop Images' ticked and 'Show Thumbnails' unticked (see attached screenshot). This is especially noticeable on mobile view.

I tried setting the section to fill screen but that seems to make it worse. It adds more padding at the top and bottom.

Yeah, my bad, that just won't work, the images don't fill the space like I would want. Right, here's an alternative that does work well! And should get you the look you want:
