Anyone know how i can customise the code of my drop down menu

Hey peeps! im having issues with the drop down options for my store, i asked square space help and they suggested adding custom code. so hopefully someone can help. 

My theme is all black with white text, which is an issue when giving customers options to change sizes because the drop down box is also white as is the font. theres no option on square space to change the box colour without changing the entire text across my whole website. A quick fix ive had to do for now is make all my text grey, but i want my text white throughout my site. and ideally ill just change the colours of the drop down boxes so the white becomes visible... anyone know any code that can help 

iv included a screen shot so you can see which boxes im talking about. there is currently grey text so it is readable.. but when i change it to white you cant see the options. 

Weirdly on a tablet is displays fine, but on laptop or phone it isnt visible
