Help with custom code - Promotional pop-up - remove "please enter a valid email address" or change to text only box

I am trying to do a quick one word survey as a pop up under the "promotional pop-up". It is coded as an email entry box and therefore replies with the "please enter a valid email address" warning if only text is written. Is there code that can override this or is there code to change the box from an email entry box to a text only box? Or does anyone know of any type of 3rd party add on that I can add to my squarespace account to accomplish this instead? All of the functionality of this "promotional pop-up" is perfect for what I want to do, except I want text entry instead of email entry. Thank you in advance for any suggestions!! 

You can replace default promotional popup with custom popup

Just add a Form Block in Footer, then we will give the code to change Form Block to simple popup.
