mobile version completely rearranged - help!

I'm thrilled with the new editor and loving how my site is looking right now. Particularly my music page (where the most content is posted) www.elijahaaron.com/discography

I got it looking exactly how I want, but then when I go to mobile, it's a complete mess 😞 like, not even close!

I understand things are resized for a mobile view, but it's mixing blocks from the top of the page with blocks from the bottom - it's like someone shuffled a deck of cards. 😆

Any help would be much appreciated!

When using the new 'Fluid Engine' tool, the mobile layout is entirely separate to the desktop layout.

By default, the mobile layout will show the elements in the order that you added them to the page during the design process. Once you have laid out the desktop design you can switch to the mobile preview and then drag and drop the elements into the required order/position - independently of the desktop layout.

Fluid Engine had two completely separate block layouts, desktop and mobile. Edits to the block layout on desktop do not affect the mobile layout. To edit the mobile layout, edit the page, then toggle the mobile view and rearrange everything. When you click a block, you'll see an arrow up and arrow down option, this can help shifting things around, but you can also just drag and drop as usual. It's a really important change, and Squarespace have not emphasised this enough for users like yourself. Any change you make must happen on desktop and mobile.

@kellibnnings you're asking the same question, but the answer is very different because you are on an older version of Squarespace (7) and using the classic editor. With the classic editor there is not the same direct editing capability for mobile, you're reliant mostly on getting the block order correct (top-to-bottom and left-to-right) on desktop to control the order on mobile. There are ways to control the mobile design, but that relies on specific cases and requires on careful use of CSS.

Is it just me or has the use-ability of Squarespace become more difficult with the new updates? I have a great layout I'm loving, but when I switch to mobile view it moves elements I have place at the top of the block down to the bottom. It moves things everywhere. What am I doing wrong? Is there a numbering method I'm missing to get them to display in correct order?

@Grizzly_Bay As discussed above, the Fluid Engine requires you to lay out the blocks on Desktop and Mobile separately. If you edit a section and add a new block, and don't edit the mobile version, the new block will simply be at the bottom of the section on mobile. Whilst editing the page, toggle the mobile view and rearrange the blocks, there is an up/down arrow when you click on a block to help you rearrange them.

Hello! My blocks are stacked strangely on mobile:

I need the logo at the very top, then the paragraph of text, and then the two buttons, ideally side-by-side.

check above - once you know that mobile is a different beast now - it helps A TON! I didn't like it at first but now I love it! MUCH MORE control!!
