What is the best way to build a boat sales page for a beginner squarespace designer?

Hi, 

We are a recently started boat sales business and will sell used and new products through traditional sales and leasing to a fixed monthly cost. I would like to showcase our boats in a "store" that help customers identify what boat is best for them/suits their wallet and then allow them to ask for a quote/get in contact or even reserv a boat...but not buy online.

I playd around first using a new store page and liked how to set up new products and tag them with categories, but I need a "contact me" form instead of a buy button. Could this be fixed? Can I add a filter instead of the categories? https://brandtbat.se/batvaljaren

I then tried to build it in a portfolio page but dont like the limited product info on the first overview page and also the categories or filter. Is this a way forward and if so, with what limitations? https://brandtbat.se/portfolio-2

I'm would like to do as much myself as possible but cant code so have to get help eventually, both through buying premade plugins and hire a professional.

I would suggest that the portfolio method would be a good way to have a non-flat structured url (i.e. /boats/northstar-orion-6/). But if you don't like the links, you can hide that section, and add the links manually in a new section with as much information, text, and images as you want.

I guess a universal filter plugin could solve the issue with tags/categories and allow customers to filter out best product? 

I put a job up on upwork and the first match opt for using store and change the button from buy to "get in touch" linked to a contact form instead. Would this work?
