damnfinecoffee Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 (edited) Hi, I'm using the Novo template and I would really like to change the portfolio/project grid spacing to a non-even grid. I know I could do this by recreating the page using images but I really want to keep the functionality of the portfolio pages as they currently are. If anyone knows how I can modify the spacing to match this example, I would be forever grateful! Cheers Edited October 5, 2022 by damnfinecoffee
Ziggy Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 This thread is asking the same question, but not with a solution: Same here: I'm not sure this is going to be feasible to do with the way that portfolio pages are set up, really sorry not to be of more help! damnfinecoffee Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 Hi @Ziggy Thanks for the info, just to clarify, Masonry is not what I'm trying to achieve, as that appears to be un-even rows and columns. I would like to maintain even rows, but have un-even columns/thumbnails. That's a real shame if it's not possible, a lot of clients request this layout. I would have thought it would be quite a simple override? Thanks again

It does seem like quite a few people are asking for this. Would it be possible to implement grid spacing for us or provide a workaround/css? Thank you!
Ziggy Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Masonry grids can be set up in two ways, even row and even columns, it's just a different style. I don't know of a way to set this up on a portfolio page. Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. Cheers! Ziggy Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 CSS Grid doesn't quite work like that, to achieve that you would want to span some containers across multiple columns not stretching the columns. Is it possible to reach the creator of Novo and see if this is at all possible? Cheers
Ziggy Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 Novo is just a Squarespace "template". They're not templates as much as they are designs, the functionality of all Squarespace templates are identical. Please like and upvote if my comments were helpful to you. Cheers! Ah my apologies I thought you were a Squarespace employee 😄 I'll reach out to them, but I'm pretty sure they'll just tell me to do it manually with a image blocks.
Ziggy Posted October 5, 2022 Posted October 5, 2022 No, just here to be helpful! Make your request for a masonry gallery on the portfolio main page a feature request, it's not a bad suggestion. I got in touch with them, they said it was not possible but they would forward the idea. So if anyone can figure out how to achieve this with code injection.. 🙏
