Selecting focal point for banner slideshow content

Hi there, 

I'm building a banner slideshow and have been unable to select a focal point for the included images. Unlike with other image layout options, there doesn't seem to be an option in the editor. I'm wondering if there is some way to add those values into the image data--either with custom css, code injection, or just somewhere on the site that I've been overlooking--so that my images remain focused where I wish as the container adapts to different screen and window sizes.
