How to fix Name field bug?

I created a product (event registration ticket). The field that I am using in my custom form are

Name, Phone, Address, DoB, Email, along with Emergency Contact Name, Emergency Contact Phone. 

Issues that I have reproduced that keep happening. 

- User registers and fills their name with Joe Bob for example. In the emergency contact, they list Jill Bob. When they get to checkout, if they click on 'Edit Details'. for whatever the reason, the name Joe Bob is replaced by Jill Bob. Anything in the field called Emergency Contact Name, replaces the Name Field.

Thoughts?
