Navigation Menu Messed Up After Integrating Member's Area

So ever since I added a member area to my website, the member area's drop down menu has seemed to replace the original drop down/navigation menu on my website. You can no longer see my pages such as "Home" or "Contact" or "Services"

Everything looks good from the editing side. It's ALL there when I go in to edit the header, but going to my publish webpages my original navigation does not appear. How do I remedy this?

The photos show the menu option when you go directly to my webpage and then what I see from the back end when trying to edit the issue.

On Squarespace 7.1 is this by design and is the default option.

When a member is logged in, the member navigation appears at the top of your site, replacing the main navigation that is seen on public pages. The main navigation links will reappear when a member logs out.

You can change this behaviour in Settings > Member AreasMember navigation.

Hi Paul, The member nav issue remains, is there a workaround that you know of? I need my members to flow seamlessly between basic unpaid content and paid content. If that doesn't exist, how about ways to style the super-basic Account sidebar nav? Thanks in advance for any help.

I've read the 3 options, but there's a tantalizing lack of info at the end of this bit on SqSp:
...............

  • Don’t show navigation - Hide the member area page links from both the main navigation and Customer Account panel. If you choose this option, create a custom member navigation on the ON THE WHAT??

If you choose not to show the member navigation, Squarespace recommend that you build a navigation solution on the member homepage. This is the landing page for your member area and is the first page you added to the member area (unless you changed it manually).

As you’ve discovered, you cannot style the “super-basic” 🤣 account panel. It’s on my list of things requiring improvement
