Removing Download Buttons/Icons from Images on Email Campaigns

Is there a way to remove the download icon that appears on hover in sent email campaigns? One of the websites I've built is for a nonprofit that runs a lot of children's programs, and the button seems to almost encourage downloads of the images we use and it's off-putting to parents.

I realize that people can still screenshot any images they want, but the download icon needs to go. I've spoken with support and while they will submit a request to make removing this an option, it currently isn't one without the use of code. I can't seem to figure out the coding on my own, so any help would be great!

I've attached an image to reference the icon appearing on hover:

You can solve this by adding a link 🔗 to each image in your email.

The download button is a feature of the email client. It is not added by Email Campaigns. Gmail adds a download button to every image that is larger than a certain size and - importantly - isn't hyperlinked. It affects all emails, not just those from Campaigns.

The solution is therefore to hyperlink all your images! Whenever you add an image, click on Unlinked (see below) and then add a suitable URL from your site. Do this for every image. The next time you send out a campaign you shouldn't see any buttons, but I recommend you use the SEND TEST feature to check that your email looks flawless before you send it out to your subscribers 🙂
