Date picker for delivery, blackout delivery dates

Will squarespace ever add a date picker option in the custom checkout form which would allow you to blackout certain delivery dates?

We use a custom checkout form now that includes notes that say we only deliver Monday-Friday, but people either ignore or don't read the notes and we get delivery orders all the time for weekend days.

Would be great if you provided a simple calendar where we could blackout days we do not deliver.

Our customers select multiple items for each order, so adding a date picker plugin on a product form is not practical, as it would ask the delivery date for each individual item.

There are no known plans to add a datepicker to custom checkout forms.

If this feature is important to your business, I recommend you contact Squarespace Customer Care to log your concern about this because Squarespace employees don't routinely monitor this forum for feature requests (see the guidelines - item 6).

If you need a workaround now, you'll need to select the date at an earlier stage in the purchase process, for example using a Custom Product Form or by writing custom code to select a date on the cart page. Neither of these may be ideal in your circumstances, but no other solution exists.

Hey Paul - found myself in a similar position. Working with someone who only ships on Mondays and is looking for a way to let customers select the specific Monday they their package shipped on, rather than simply the next Monday after their order. Am I understanding correctly that Squarespace doesn't support this functionality?

It depends on where you need to ask this question within in the purchase workflow. On the product page, in the cart or on the checkout page. If you need to ask at the checkout, there isn’t a great solution. You could add a dropdown to a custom checkout form and list the upcoming Monday dates, but the site owner will need to edit the list each weekend to remove the oldest Monday and add a later one.
