Questions about squarespace

Hi All,

I just created an account on square space and have yet to set up my site but I am wondering where I might find info on file size, resolution, and basic criteria of uploads. Also looking for the best place to view what packages are available and pricing for square space membership.

Thank You and I look forward to seeing everyone's creations.

I suggest you use Google to find the hundreds of articles on this available.

Start with this one:

Formatting your images for display on the web – Squarespace Help Center

Recommended size is 500kB each to keep page load speeds reasonable. Use GIMP or some free online compression sites to get your .jpg files to be that small, and also FIRST pre-crop them to 2500px (big images) or 1000px (e.g. thumbnails). The SS editor actually will download a full-size image pre-cropped, then have the browser trim it, so no page load reduction there. Note that although other than the 2500px width file you supply, SS will generate its own smaller width files which may not have all the compression your original file had, but they generally will be smaller due to width reduction.

One note INCORRECT in the SS help site is about the favicons. SS documentation omitted the need to have the favicon size be a multiple of 96 pixels if you want it to show up on mobile searches on Google. Learned that the hard way.
