Blog Page - Featured Image not appearing next to post

Recommended Posts

Using a Montauk family template which is a 7.0 template, you need to add an image block in the post iteslf at the top of the page,  and add the same image you put in the featured image field.  Click on the image block plus sign and click select from library. Your image will be there and you can add it to the block.  You can upload a different image if you want as well. Featured images show up in summary blocks or when your post is linked somewhere like in Facebook. They do not show up in the post itself.

Thank you! This helped a lot. I'm hoping you may be able to help with something else. I did what you said and added image blocks within the post itself. I placed the image to the left of the text so as to reduce the size of the image (see "screenshot1.png", attached). All looks good, but on the actual page (see "screenshot2.png", attached), the image is now very large and on top of the post text. Is there any way to make the page display look more like how I've structure things within the post? Thanks in advance.

Montauk displays blog posts in a vertically stacked list. So it is going to put the image on the top of the text. The workaround is to use a summary block which allows you to arrange blog posts in all kinds of ways. I suggest you create a blank page in the unlinked section add a summary block pull content from your blog and then experiment with it. If you like what you see make that page your front facing blog page and put the blog post page in the unlinked section of your site. You can switch page names (and url slugs if you wish) and viewers will see the summary and think it is the blog. That is what I do to completley change the look of my blog from the acatual page. Here are some links for you to take a look at.

First is my actual blog listing and it displays only one way image on top of the text like yours and I can't change the look of it at all except move the title over or under the image which doesn't really help me much.

Second is my front facing blog page all summary blocks and I can move images anywhere I want to and move text to left, right, underneath the image and change the shape of the items (with a bit of code)
