BrittGuy
I am using the Forte template and have uploaded my logo as a jpeg but this flattens the image making it have a white background rather than a transparent one. Any way to insert a different file format into replica the role of the logo in the template but to be transparent? Link to comment
farm2cave
I don't think jpeg supports transparency, might try saving as .gif. At least that is what I had to do to my site. Bryan Herrinwww.farm2cave.com Link to comment
BrittGuy
Thank you this has worked but is making the file a bit pixelated when in GIF form - any advice? Link to comment
ronvanclief
A ".PNG " may be better, and it supports transparency Link to comment
drudesign
Save your logo as a .png or .svg if you have the software to do so. They both support transparency. Link to comment

liveup
Hi, same problem here too. I've tried saving as a PNG and gif. How do I make the background transparent? Thanks! Link to comment
liveup
I just toned down the contrast and my white background seems to have blended with the squarespace white! Link to comment
ArminB
It depends on the source file. When you have a .jpg that has already a white background you have to separate it from background first > with photoshop. Because saving it as .png wont make the background disapear: The source Logo Mark the white background with photoshop or another program(Make sure that you made a new layer (doesn't work in background layer in photoshop) And delete the background And then the logo is perfect: PS: Make sure you use RGB color because you can't make a .png with CMYK About Armin: Squarespace Expert Profile: https://www.squarespace.com/designer/profile/3649084 Website: www.braunsberger-media.com Link to comment

rodsav
If you save as a .png with transparent background, DO NOT use the Squarespace image editor to crop or change the logo in any way. It will automatically change your logo from transparent to flattened with white background. You have to upload it at the right size / crop as saved by your third party image editor (photoshop etc) to maintain the integrity of the transparent background. Link to comment
