Is using page title only and excluding site title bad for seo on my photography website?

Recommended Posts

Site URL: https://www.michaelheffernan.com/

My site title is pretty long - Michael Heffernan | Lifestyle Photographer London. So using the format %p %s (or visa versa) means that my titles are always too long for browser display length for serps

My site title brings good seo traffic for my chosen key words and its good for the home page. But if I use the format %p %s for all the other pages on my site the titles are very long. So I decided to use only the %p format for all other pages except my homepage.

This is what the %p %s format looks like on the ‘life’ menu item on my site. This menu item uses the seo title ‘lifestyle photography london’

lifestyle photography - Michael Heffernan | Lifestyle Photographer London. This is way too long. I have changed the page format to only use the page title %p and added my name Michael Heffernan  to the page  so the page now looks like:

lifestyle photography | Michael Heffernan.

It looks a lot better to me.  Im excluding the site title on all pages except the home page

I only implemented this yesterday so google bots probably have not seen it yet. I cant figure out if this is bad or good for my SEO leaving the site title off by using the format %p and excluding %s

Any comments and help much appreciated

Michael.
