gradient coloring fails

I tried to apply gradient color on a section by inserting the following code

#yui_3_17_2_1_1660045409506_623 {
  background: -webkit-linear-gradient(left, #F2C5E0, #EC8FD0, #D43790, #870A30);
}

in to the CSS which works fine initially, but when I save my changes are lost?

what am I doing wrong

PS I'm in the Brine family template

hmmm...seems there was a syntax error

#yui_3_17_2_1_1660045409506_623 was replaced by .Main...not it works
